All Walnut varieties show the best development in well drained fertile soils at sufficient depth.
- From the frost pits at the valley bottoms
- Need to avoid places that flood and accumulate
- In gravelly soils ıt can’t improve well.
Walnuts grow their roots best in soils where they can develop comfortably up to 2.5-3.5 metres. The top of the soil where the Walnut will be grown should be as good at six as it is good. The lower soil should not be composed of monolithic rock, non-permeable clay, cyst gravel layer. Therefore, only the soil type is not sufficient when determining the location of a walnut garden.
